Description: What is this data? This feature layer depicts land use within northeastern Illinois broken out into 57 categories. Parcels were dissolved on common land use types, and polygons were generated for non-parcel areas (e.g. road rights-of-way) and assigned a generic “non-parcel” category.How can it be used? What projects use this data?Land Use data can be used for forecasting, land use and transportation modeling, existing conditions reports and general research. Who created this data? How and when? Data was created by CMAP staff, updating the previous 2020 inventory using Spring 2023 aerial photography as the base, supplemented by County Assessor files and other data. Where can I find the latest data? How frequently is it updated? Land Use Inventory files are considered final upon publication. New Land Use Inventories are produced every 3 to 5 years. They may be updated as necessary to correct data flaws, and the original files replaced.
